Day 243: Living Income Guaranteed and Communism

Whenever a new way of organizing society and our economic system opens up, one of the comments that comes to the surface is :"But isn't that communism?"

Now, communism in itself as a word has become a word of Terror. It is used specifically to instigate fear reactions within people, where you do not want to be linked or involved in anything that may be deemed 'communistic'. But what is communism really? Nobody knows anymore. It's one of those terms -- just like the Inflation concept -- that has taken on a life of its own. In the case of communism, it's become a boogieman story. I mean, when people talk about communism and 'fighting communism' it is done from an assumption that communism is 'one clearly defined thing' and ‘it’s clearly evil’. Truth is, there were many various different concepts that developed that could be deemed 'communistic'. It's the same with Religion, you can talk about for instance 'Christianity' but then within that you have various variations and adaptations of Christianity. Forms of communism were adopted in Spain in the 1930s which were highly effective, yet you don’t hear about it anywhere.

So when you talk to people and ask why they are against anything that could closely be related to communism, they go "oh but just look at Russia, and all those people that died it was a total failure, it’s never going to work". What is not being done is putting communism that took place in Russia (or what actually would be more correct is to say 'the communism that DIDN'T take place in Russia) into context.

What must be understood is that Communism as an idea and Communism as ‘what happened in Russia’ are two different things. You see, people were angry, people then had an idea and then they went into a Revolution to try and implement that idea. The thing is that once they were in power – they had no practical plan or way of implementing their idea in a way that would actually work. They had no knowledge of things like politics and economics and were completely inadequate and incompetent to actually run a country. So, they tried things out, it failed, they went into fear and established a form of authoritarianism and all in all the story did not have a happy ending.

To go back to the Christianity example – the way Communism is treated is the same way the Jesus message and Christianity is being treated today. We have what Jesus said, being one thing – as principles of ‘Love thy neighbour’ and ‘Give as you would like to receive’, which is very much a principle of Equality and Harmonious Living. And then you have Christianity in all its various ways as what is ‘supposedly the Jesus message’ – but when you look at what is actually being lived out, is a message of fear, hate and inequality. So just like ‘what Jesus said’ and what ‘Christianity does’ are two completely different things – you can’t say that ‘Communism as an idea’ and ‘How communism took place’ are the exact same thing.

If you look at what happened in Russia, this is exactly one of the reasons why we never promoted any type of ‘Revolution’ to bring about change within any of our proposals, because they are impulsive and short-sighted. So yes, communism in Russia failed because there was no practical common sense reasoning or research that had gone into what they were doing. And because they failed big time, communism now has forevermore been branded by the mark of the Devil, and we should fight it in any way we can.

So now, each time something comes up that even in the slightest way could disturb the way things currently are and can in the slightest way be interpreted as ‘communistic': fear rises and it gets boxed away. All communism has been reduced to in this day and age is a form of fear induced superstition to keep people from actually thinking for themselves, kind of the same way Parents will tell their children that the boogieman’s gonna come for them if they don’t eat their veggies. Come up with any idea that will bring about a change in the way the current system works and people will come at you with the big C-Word to scare you into shutting up and conforming.

It’s come to a point that anything that doesn’t fit and support the status quo is labelled ‘communism’ and ‘socialism’ and anything that does support the current system is called ‘democratic’ and ‘free’. It’s just a word used as one pleases – if you don’t like it, call it communistic – if you do like something, call it ‘democratic and free’. I mean, you can have two countries who both to some extent operate within a form of Nationalization – but depending on how much they threaten the status quo the one will be called Communistic and the other one won’t. It’s just a word of convenience. Take Chile for instance whose economy is based on the nationalization of copper, copper being one of their main exports. They nationalized it and they did it effectively – and yet Chile is not deemed communistic. In fact, the World Bank will tell you that they are very proud of Chile and that Chile is an example for other South American countries in terms of adopting the Free Market System. But if you’re a different country and you nationalize say your oil and you adopt policies that are unfavorable to the United States = now you’re communistic = You are evil, your president is the Devil, you must be stopped.

It should actually become a rule that you can’t use the word ‘Communism’ in any form of argument or way to make a point, because the word has gotten abused so much that it’s just a joke. If you can’t make a point without resorting to terms like Communism as a form of Propaganda to terrorize people, then you just shouldn’t bother.

Day 158: Prevention is the Best Cure - Equal Money System

Prevention is the Best Cure

Decision-making within an Equal Money System will adhere to the Constitutional Principle of ‘Prevention is the Best Cure’. This implies that with every decision made, all possible ramifications, consequences and outflows must be considered in order to design the policies and regulations in a way that do not cause unnecessary harm to the current or future generations of plants, animals and humans.

The moment disharmony exists, it indicates that the point of disharmony was not adequately prevented. Becoming aware of such a point of disharmony places us in a reactive mode. A reactive mode always takes place after the harm as a result of disharmony that has already occurred, and thus, it is in essence ‘too late’ as the harm cannot be undone. To design a regulatory political system based on reactive measures is therefore unacceptable, as it implies that we wait for harm to take place before action is taken. Currently, policy and regulations are mostly based on the interest of select groups. This causes harm to manifest on other levels that were not included in the equation, causing us to continuously be in a reactive mode as we attempt to correct the mistakes of our past. This is why it is so important to always design policies and regulations according to the Principle of What is Best for All, as it will enable us to prevent disharmony before it occurs.

Obviously, taking action before harm takes place also reduces the amount of resources that go into correcting mistakes and dealing with the consequences of carelessness. A simple example is nutrition. There are countless ills that are currently caused through inadequate nutrition, among which are diabetes, heart conditions, cancer, impaired cognitive functions such as memory capacity, and so on. Treatment for such ills requires a whole range of resources and is time-intensive. If the source is corrected, which is the diet, the ills are prevented as well as the need to use up resources for their treatment.

Initially, policy making will still largely involve correcting the mistakes of our past, as there were many, and thus many consequences. However, as we progress as a global society within the ability to prevent disharmony and to direct all matters in a harmonious way, we will be able to bring children in the world knowing that we’ve taken all preventative measures to allow them to live a life without harm. And thus, the principle of fear as it is now part of society will have been addressed and will no longer form part of our co-existence.

Day 136: We're Free, but We're Wussies in the Face of Authority

I'm sure you've probably heard about the psychological test that was conducted 50 years ago in relation to human morality. The test-subjects were told that they were participating in a test on educational techniques and whether individuals learn better if they receive punishment after getting an answer wrong. At the beginning, the test-subject meets with the person playing the professor and the person playing another test-subject. There is a rigged draw to decide who will be the learner and who will be the teacher. The actor playing the other test-subject is always the learner and the actual test-subject is the teacher. The test-subject sees the fake test-subject being strapped to a chair and hooked up on the one end of a machine that administers electric shocks. The 'teacher' hears the 'learner' say to the 'professor' that he has heart problems, upon which the 'professor' replies that the shocks might be painful, but not harmful.

The 'teacher' is then brought to another room, where the side of the machine is where the shocks are being administered. The learner has to answer questions and every time he gets the answer wrong, the teacher has to give an electric shock through the machine. The first time it starts at 15V, and every time it keeps going up. The first few times, the teacher doesn't hear any response. After a while, he hears the recorded voice of the learner making sounds indicating pain - which increase in intensity as the voltage goes up - after a while even intense screams. At 120V, the teacher hears the learner saying he wants to stop the test, because his heart is acting up, and he's had enough. This is when many of the teachers start hesitating or ask the 'professor' if they shouldn't stop because the 'learner' wants to quit. Dependent on how fervently the 'teacher' objects to continuing, the 'professor' says: 'Please continue'; 'It is essential that you complete the experiment'; 'You don't have a choice'. 50 years ago, about 60% of the people actually continued with the test, even after the 'learner' begged to stop.

In the TV-show 'Curiosity' the question was raised if people were evil and the same test was conducted again. It was conducted on a far smaller scale, and not for the purpose of generating scientific results - but the same conditions were applied as 50 years ago. And guess what - 77% of the people continued administering shocks after 150V, after the 'learner' indicated he couldn't go anymore.

When asking the people why they did - most said that 'well, the professor said I had to' - lol.

We believe ourselves be such moral beings - where we even see the terms 'humane' and 'inhumane' to reflect our moral virtues - but when it comes down to it - we're ready to throw all of it out the window if someone else, a person in position of apparent authority, says we should. Remember - the test-subjects were under the impression that they could have been the one on the other end of the machine, and that it was just luck that placed them in the 'teacher' position - so they were willing to do unto another what they wouldn't want anyone to have done unto them.

As long as we're willing to bow down to a form of authority in the name of fear - we cannot claim to be free. As long as we're afraid of any form of perceived authority - we're their puppets and slaves - and that's exactly what's happening in the world right now. We're being scammed by economists, politicians, media, advertisement - left, right and centre. And then we ask: But why is the world in such a bad condition? Why are all these horrible things happening? Well - it's simple: Because you're a wussie - we're all wussies. But we don't have to be. If we can agree that hurting other people in ways we wouldn't want to be hurt is insane - and if it's fear that would drive us to commit such acts - then we can agree that fear is a sign of insanity. We're not sane when we're fearful - because when we're fearful we just throw our common sense out the door. Now - wouldn't you say then that the first step at Freedom - a value everyone seems to hold so dear - would be to free yourself from your own insanity - from your fear?

Suggest checking out Desteni Lite - it's a free course that will give you the tools on how to free yourself from your own insanity. If you see that there's problems in this world and something needs to be done - then start there. There's no point in making bold statements of change if we won't have the guts to actually implement them. And if any excuses and justifications are coming up as apparent reasons for why you shouldn't go check it out - know that you're just protecting your own insanity and you ARE the evil in this world. I mean, really - what have you got to lose?

Day 59: How Far can We Stretch our Customers? - Part 2

For context, please read: Day 58: How Far can We Stretch our Customers? - Part 1

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to try to milk my customers as much as I can so that I can earn as much profit as I can - and to be able to do this use the concept of elasticity and if I see that the product I am selling has low price elasticity of demand - I will make the price unnecessarily high, because I know that my customers will pay the higher price anyways.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to think 'Suckers!!!!!!' as I raise my price in seeing that the product I am providing has a low price elasticity of demand - because I know that I am fucking over my customers but there is nothing they can do about it, because I am simply following the rules of the free market economy - and thus, I know that I am abusing my fellow human, but can get away with it and within that I feel all powerful and smart because I have got the long end of the straw.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to believe that just because I am operating my business in a legal way, that my behaviour is acceptable - instead of seeing, realising and facing the actuality of my actions for what they are: that I am taking advantage of people and what people need.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise the disgrace and absurdity of an economic system that allows individuals to literally play with the lives of others by raising prices as long as there is enough people that are willing and able to pay the higher price - without considering that there are simply things that HAVE TO be available to everyone, such as housing, food, clean and drinkable water, electricity, education, etc. - just to be able to survive in this world - and thus any economic system where people are left out is unacceptable and must be stopped.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that in teaching students of economics what the concept of elasticity means and implies, we are educating the next generation in how to fuck over our fellow human beings, making sure that our legacy of nastiness and spitefulness continues - where we will fuck someone over and then smile and say "hey, it's just business".

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to abdicate all responsibility for my actions within the economic system to the rules of the game - because: hey, this is how it's done, it's nothing personal, I gotta do what I gotta do - as though the game and its rules can ever exist without its players - not realising that it is the players who play the game that create and sustain the game - and therefore, each and every one is responsible on a personal level for all the atrocities that are accepted and allowed as consequences of playing the game of free trade.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to believe that my behaviour of nastiness and spitefulness is acceptable in economics, because everyone's nastiness and spitefulness will 'balance each other out' so that, in the end - the consequences of this spitefulness and nastiness remain limited and contained - without realising and seeing the ridiculousness of such a statement and belief.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that our economic system is simply showing us how we have limited ourselves into believing that we'll never be anything else than lying and cheating bastards who will smile in each others' face and then stab each other in the back - and as long as we keep training new generations in the way of Nasty Economics, we ensure that this is all humanity will ever be - instead of just stopping the insanity and commit ourselves to stopping any form of abuse, inequality, atrocity, nastiness, spitefulness, backchatting and backstabbing - and create a world that is a home, rather than a minefield.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that we've created our world to be one big minefield where we are living in continuous fear of being fucked over by other people, because we know that's what they do - because we know that's what we do - yet on the surface we will be friendly and cheerful and say 'I love you so much' - because admitting to the reality of the situation and actually facing our fears seems like too daunting a task, not realising that what we're currently saying is: 'let me rather just try and avoid the invisible mines and try to not get blown to pieces' - as though that's such an easy task.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that because we suppress our fears of each other every moment of the day, doesn't mean that they are not existent within us and that it is not how we truly experience ourselves - but we rather pretend to be and feel different than who we really are by playing a character of joy and peace and love, continuously suppressing the FEAR that lingers within, until one day we get a burn-out and become depressed and we don't understand why - not realising that how you experience yourself in those moments is how you actually always experience and have experienced yourself inside - as a creature that does not feel, nor know, nor understand joy, peace or love.

I forgive myself for not accepting and allowing myself to realise that I have never really seen or experienced myself as everything that I have suppressed within myself, yet keeps lurking in the darkness - but only ever experienced myself as the various characters that I have designed for myself to be able to cope with my environment and my inner reality for those moments where 'dark thoughts and emotions' creep up to the surface - in the same way that I have never really seen or experienced the world we live in as all the pain, agony and atrocities that happen every day - but only focus on those parts of the world that make me feel better about myself and make me feel like I am living a good life, a happy life - blinded by fear of what I have created and continue creating every moment of the day that I ignore who I am.
